Goodman Allen Donnelly members Michael Goodman and Eileen Talamante, JD, RN, will present at the Virginia Medical Group Management Association (VMGMA) Spring 2021 Virtual Conference, to be held March 23-24, 2021. Each attorney’s practice is concentrated in representing health care providers from all over the Commonwealth of Virginia in licensing and discipline matters before the Board of Medicine and the Board of Medicine, as well as other health care licensees before their respective regulatory boards.
Their presentation, “It’s My License and You Can’t Have It: Things Not to Say to a Board of Medicine Investigator”, will focus on current trends in matters before the Virginia Department of Health Professions. Topics will include: laws, regulations and board expectations; investigative process (Do I really need to get a lawyer involved?); prescribing laws and regulations; provider substance abuse and mental health Issues; and boundary issues.
Established in 1974, the Virginia MGMA is a non-profit association of medical practice management and administrative professionals and representatives of organizations that support medical practices. Members come from practices that range in size from 1 to over 600 providers and include all major specialties. As the foremost Virginia resource for practice leaders and their organizations, VMGMA membership has grown to represent over 500 members.
