Part one of a two-part article on Medical Patents, written by Goodman Allen Donnelly attorney Matt Osenga, was published in the Fall 2016 issue of Hampton Roads Physician magazine. The article explains “What medical professionals need to know about patents”, and states that a patent can be obtained for a new medical device, drug, biological agent, or method of treating, diagnosing, or administering medical service to a patient. Part two of this article will appear in the Winter 2017 issue, and will focus on what to do if you are accused of patent infringement.
