• Peter Mellette, the founding partner of Mellette PC, brings over 30 years of health law regulatory and corporate practice experience. He has successfully represented and advised healthcare providers from individuals to long-term care providers to freestanding imaging and surgery facilities to hospital systems. Mellette has successfully represented hundreds of clients in the Certificate of Public Need (COPN) process, resolved many licensing and facility care issues, advised providers on multiple complex transactional and contractual issues, and pursued payment disputes involving millions of dollars in provider payments through the administrative process and courts. He is recognized as one of Virginia’s top lawyers, and he actively contributes to the community through leadership in local organizations.
• Robert Harrison Gibbs, Jr. focuses his practice on representing physicians and other healthcare providers. His expertise extends to state and federal regulatory reporting, Stark and Anti-Kickback Law compliance, corporate documents and transactions, third-party payment, behavioral health facility operations, licensing and certification.
• Elizabeth Dahl Coleman assists healthcare providers on operational and regulatory issues, including guiding clients through Virginia’s COPN program, assisting individuals and facilities with licensing, peer review, and credentialing issues, and advising clients on employment matters.
• Trace Hall addresses billing disputes and compliance issues for healthcare providers and has a background in insurance defense litigation. He assists clients with contracts, collections, licensing, and property matters.
