Michael L. Goodman (Health Law), Charles M. Allen (Intellectual Property), Robert F. Donnelly (Civil Litigation) and Kathleen M. McCauley (Health Law) on their selection from among their peers as one of Virginia’s 2008 Legal Elite, by Virginia Business Magazine.

Michael L. Goodman concentrates his practice in the representation of health care providers before their respective Commonwealth of Virginia health regulatory boards, and in hospital credentialing, medical malpractice and general health care counseling.

Charles M. Allen, a registered patent attorney, concentrates his practice in representing clients in patent prosecution, trademark and copyright registration, intellectual property infringement litigation as well as commercial, product liability, professional liability and complex litigation matters.

Robert F. Donnelly concentrates his practice in the areas of civil litigation with special emphasis on medical and professional liability defense where he has represented hundreds of health care professionals including physicians, hospitals and nursing homes throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia, as well as Commercial litigation.

Kathleen M. McCauley concentrates her practice in civil litigation with special emphasis on medical malpractice defense, hospital and medical school representation and employment matters, as well as representation before the Commonwealth of Virginia’s health regulatory boards and general health care counseling.

The Virginia Legal Elite are chosen through a survey conducted by Virginia Business Magazine and The Virginia Bar Association. For the first time in the survey's eight-year history, voting was opened to all 38,000 lawyers licensed to practice in Virginia. The survey asked lawyers to nominate their colleagues who have demonstrated exceptional levels of expertise in the 15 categories of law which are chosen in consultation with the Virginia Bar Association.
