A graduate of Emory University School of Law, Kristi L. VanderLaan joined Goodman Allen & Filetti as an Associate in September 2008. Ms. VanderLaan holds an undergraduate degree from Michigan State University in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in Health Care and Bioethics. Her prior work experience with the Department of Health and Human Services as a HIPAA Specialist, coupled with a legal internship at the CDC in Atlanta where her focus was researching pressing health related legal and policy issues, brings a unique and invaluable perspective to our health care clients. The focus of Ms. VanderLaan's practice is in Administrative and Regulatory Health Care. Specifically she handles matters involving health information privacy compliance, Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement, health care fraud and abuse, licensing and credentialing of health care providers, patient safety and quality assurance programs as well as risk compliance.
